Branco Weiss Fellowship - Society in Science Grant

Branco Weiss Fellowship

Agency: Foundation

GrantWatch ID #139465

Grant Description

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International Ph.D. researchers to pursue long-term research projects in any discipline. Funding is intended to cover research costs, such as salary, equipment, personnel, travel, consumables, and more. The goal of the program is to give exceptional researchers a platform to engage in dialogue on cultural, social, economic, or political issues relevant to their discipline.

The Branco Weiss Fellowship – Society in Science is a community of exceptional young scientists who share a passion for taking research beyond the mainstream. Fellows are given the means to pursue their personal vision of a particular scientific project independently – in the best possible locations, anywhere in the world. The Branco Weiss Fellowship provides a platform for exceptionally qualified researchers from all disciplines demonstrating a willingness to engage in a dialogue on relevant social, cultural, political, or economic issues across the frontiers of their particular discipline. The fellowship is international and transdisciplinary in nature.

The ideal applicant for a Branco Weiss Fellowship leverages the freedom offered by the fellowship to design a surprisingly novel and scientifically rigorous research project. The fellowship addresses junior researchers with a record of outstanding scientific achievement and a passion for venturing into new territory.
