Grants of up to $15,000 to USA female composers to support career advancement and the creation of new operatic works. Applicants must submit an intent to apply prior to submitting a full proposal. Funding is intended for the development of new theatrical works for the trained voice and instrumental ensemble. Grant funds may be used toward workshops, readings, musical materials, production design, promotional materials, and other associated expenses.
OPERA America invites proposals for grants from composers who identify as women and can document their ability to compose theatrical works for the trained voice and instrumental ensemble.

Estimated Size of Grant:
Funding may not be applied to expenses incurred before April 1, 2023. Grant activities must be completed by June 30, 2024
