Grant Description
Grants of up to $1,250 to Kentucky agricultural producers and farms to offset the cost of third-party audits that evaluate and ensure good agricultural practices. Funding is intended for evaluation programs that confirm that the audited farm is handling, producing, packaging, and storing fruits and vegetables using safe practices to minimize food safety hazards. Several retail and wholesale buyers require producers have third-party audit verification to ensure growers are conforming to the best agricultural practices for food production.

Additional Criteria for Eligibility
To receive reimbursement producers must be, or become, a member of Kentucky Proud through the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
Pre-Application Information
The deadline for reimbursement submissions is December 15, 2022.
Funds are limited for 2022. Application pre-approval is strongly encouraged but not required. Once the audit process is complete, submit a copy or image of the third-party GAPs audit receipt.
NOTES: Only produce crops are eligible for the cost-share program. Audited farm/producer, auditor, and certifying agency must clearly appear on the submitted invoice.
