Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International students in grades six through twelve to participate in a documentary competition. Winners receive cash prizes of up to $5,000. Students create a short documentary video, five to six minutes in length, about issues that impact their lives. Students may enter the competition individually, or work in teams of either two or three members. The entry must be the original work of the student(s).
StudentCam is C-SPAN's annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think critically about issues that affect U.S. communities and the nation. This year, students in grades 6-12 are being asked to create a short (5-6 minute) video documentary on a topic that relates to the competition theme.
StudentCam 2023 Theme: "If you were a newly elected member of Congress, which issue would be your first priority and why?"
Grades 6-8 compete in the Middle School category, and grades 9-12 compete in the High School category.
