Grant Description
Award of $10,000 to a USA or Canada K-12 teacher for outstanding classroom science education. The award recipient will be honored for having positively impacted the school, community, and students through excellence in teaching. In addition, the awardee and finalists will receive an all-expense-paid trip to attend a national conference.

Additional Criteria for Eligibility
K–12 classroom science teachers are eligible to apply. (Nominees must be classroom teachers whose responsibilities include teaching science.)
Nominees must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience (not including the current school year) as a teacher of science, and must teach in a private or public school in the United States, U.S. Territories, Department of Defense schools, or in Canada.
The Shell Science Teaching Award recipient will receive $10,000. The recipient and the two finalists will each receive an expense-paid trip to attend the NSTA National Conference on Science Education. During the conference, they will be honored at the Shell Reception. The recipient will also be recognized at the Shell Reception. The 10 semifinalists will receive certificates of distinction.
