Grant Description

Awards to USA K-12 educators, administrators, and school staff members to recognize outstanding efforts to positively impact the lives of students. Nominations are accepted for educators and employees in public, charter, and private schools. The purpose of the program is to honor teachers and staff who exemplify excellence, positive influence, and leadership.

LifeChanger of the Year is an annual program recognizing K-12 educators and school employees across the country. The program celebrates those who are making a significant difference in the lives of students by exemplifying excellence, positive influence, and leadership.

To be considered for a LifeChanger of the Year award, nominees must:

Make a positive impact in the lives of students
Enhance their school or district’s atmosphere, culture and pride
Demonstrate exemplary leadership at the school and/or district level
Possess a proven record of professional excellence
Show commitment to building a nurturing environment that supports learning
Adhere to the highest moral and ethical standards

LifeChanger Spirit Award: Given to the LifeChanger whose community demonstrates the most support for their nomination.
LifeChanger Spotlight Award: Given to a LifeChanger in a specific discipline each year.
LifeChanger Capstone Award: Given to a LifeChanger who’s retiring at the end of the 2021-22 school year.

Additional Criteria for Eligibility

Nominee must be a K-12 educator, teacher, administrator, or any member of a school’s staff who makes a positive difference in the lives of students.

All K-12 public, private, and charter school or school district employees are eligible for LifeChanger of the Year. LifeChangers are teachers, principals, administrators, nurses, custodians, cooks, librarians, bus drivers, parent liaisons, coaches, superintendents, and counselors, just to name a few. They are the people in schools who are making a positive difference for students.
