Awards to USA, Canada, and International scientists for outstanding contributions to the field of health equity. Priority areas of interest include the environment, consumer safety, food safety and security, and safe medicines. Eligible applicants have demonstrated a commitment to reducing disproportionate health burdens in underserved populations and to promoting greater health equity in relation to the areas of focus listed above.
The HESI Innovation Prize is designed to bring recognition to scientists who have created a safer, more sustainable world by facilitating innovative collaborations in the areas of safe and effective medicines, food safety and security, chemical and consumer product safety, and/or environmental quality and sustainability.
The HESI Innovation Prize recognizes exceptional scientists who share HESI’s commitment to synthesizing ideas, resources, and collaborators across scientific disciplines and sectors – and who have demonstrated particular creativity and impact in doing so. Awardees will have applied this approach to catalyze health equity progress in relation to one or more of the following areas that are central to HESI’s core operations:

2022-2023 Thematic Focus: For 2022-2023, the HESI Innovation Prize will recognize individuals who have met the Award Objectives described above so as to help reduce disproportionate health burdens in under-served populations and/or to promote greater health equity.
